Captive Walid Daqqa (60 years old), from the city of Baqa al-Gharbia in the occupied Palestinian territories in 1948, and is considered one of the most prominent writers and thinkers of the Palestinian captive movement.

Walid Daqqa has been imprisoned since 1986, and the occupation initially sentenced him to death, which was later commuted to 37 years in prison. After that, the occupation court added two more years to his sentence.
