The Israeli government has refrained from approving a plan for East Jerusalem
The Hebrew newspaper Haaretz reported, on Monday, that the Israeli government yesterday refrained from approving the five-year plan for the development of occupied East Jerusalem neighborhoods, which was to be approved yesterday.
Basically, this is a plan that aims to Judaize the neighborhoods of East Jerusalem, attempt to "Israelize" education, and impose Israeli agendas.
The newspaper quoted government sources as saying that the Israeli Minister of Finance, Bezalel Smotrich, opposed parts of the plan, as did the government ministries that were supposed to finance it, while many plans that benefit the schemes of right-wing associations were approved.
The sources indicated that only a basic framework for the five-year plan for East Jerusalem was approved.
The plan was promoted during the past six months by several government agencies under the pretext of developing the eastern part of the city and promoting education, employment and infrastructure at a cost of about 3 billion shekels.
