The Jordanian Foreign Ministry condemns Ben Ghafir's storming of Al-Aqsa
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned, in the strongest terms, the Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, storming Al-Aqsa Mosque, this Sunday morning, under the guard and protection of the Israeli occupation forces.
The official spokesman for the ministry, Ambassador Sinan Majali, said that the Israeli Minister of National Security's storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and violating its sanctity is a provocative step that is condemned, a dangerous and unacceptable escalation, and represents a flagrant and unacceptable violation of international law, and of the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its sanctities.
He stressed that the continuous violations and attacks on the Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem, in conjunction with the continuation of unilateral measures of settlement expansion and continuous incursions into the occupied Palestinian territories, warns of further escalation, and represents a dangerous trend that the international community must work to stop immediately.
The official spokesman for the ministry stressed that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Qudsi Al-Sharif, with its entire area of 144 dunums, is a pure place of worship for Muslims, and that the Jerusalem Endowments and Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department affiliated to the Jordanian Ministry of Endowments, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites is the legal entity with exclusive jurisdiction to manage all the affairs of the Holy Mosque. Al-Qudsi Al-Sharif and the organization of entry to it.
The official spokesman for the Ministry called on Israel, in its capacity as the occupying power, to immediately cease all practices and violations against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to respect its sanctity, stressing the need to stop all measures aimed at changing the existing historical and legal situation and imposing the temporal and spatial division, and respecting the authority of the Jerusalem Endowment Administration and the affairs of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
