1,700 new settlement units in "Ramot"

The so-called Israeli Local Committee for Planning and Building in Occupied Jerusalem approved the deposit of two plans with the District Committee, the slopes of Shorek, which constitute a new residential area east of the "Ramot" settlement, whose population today is about fifty thousand.

Two private companies presented the plans, in cooperation with the Jerusalem Municipality, and they include the construction of 1,700 housing units in buildings with a height of 12 floors, commercial areas, public institutions, and parks.

The Jerusalem municipality said: "The two projects are being built within the framework of the master plan 2000 and as a continuation of the master plan prepared by the municipality. The two plans form an extension along Ramot and extend it to the east."
