Palestinian praise for Egypt's efforts to achieve a cease-fire
On Sunday, Palestinian authorities praised the Egyptian efforts to achieve a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, 5 days after the Israeli aggression.
President Mahmoud Abbas praised the great efforts made by the Arab Republic of Egypt, led by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to reach a truce agreement and stop the aggression.
President Abbas said that the Egyptian active role in reaching the truce agreement and stopping the aggression on the Gaza Strip reflects the strength and specificity of the Egyptian-Palestinian relations, and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's keenness and personal interest in the Palestinian cause and the rights of our people.
President Abbas saluted the Palestinian people for their steadfastness, had mercy on the souls of the martyrs, wished a speedy recovery for the wounded, and instructed all relevant ministries to provide immediate relief aid to the people of the Strip.
For its part, Hamas thanked Egypt, represented by President Sisi, for its efforts to cease fire.
She also thanked Hamas, Qatar and the United Nations for their efforts to help bring about a cease-fire.
The Secretary General of the Islamic Jihad also thanked Egypt and Qatar.
