Yesterday, dozens of representatives of institutions, forces and factions in Nablus governorate participated in a stand in front of the Nablus municipality building, denouncing the burning of the vehicle of a member of the municipal council , Moayad Dweikat , by unknown persons at dawn on Friday.
During the vigil, many speeches were delivered condemning this attack and calling for the speedy detection of the perpetrators to quell discord and protect the social fabric.
The Mayor of Nablus, Sami Hijjawi, said that this attack came at a time when the city of Nablus is exposed to the daily violations of the occupation and the rise of martyrs.
He added that this stand carries a message to everyone who seeks to sow discord, that we will stand as a bulwark in front of him.
He called on the security services to make every effort to reach the perpetrators, detect them and hold them accountable as soon as possible so that these attacks do not recur.
A member of the Board of Directors of the Nablus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Yassin Dweikat, said that the chamber considers this incident an attack on civil peace in Nablus, and a destabilization of societal stability there.
He called on the security services to expedite the disclosure of the circumstances of the incident and previous incidents in the governorate, and to hold the perpetrators accountable and bring them to justice.
In a speech, the Dweikat clan considered the attack on its son "a despicable crime practiced by bats of darkness in an attempt to sow discord and strike at the solid social fabric."
She said that she looks seriously at the increase in attacks on citizens' property, and urged the security establishment to make every effort to uncover the perpetrators and bring them to justice so that they can serve as an example to others.
And saluted all the institutions and factions that expressed their rejection of this attack, which blocks the way for anyone who tries to tamper with the foundations of the value system.
In the speech of the Factional Coordination Committee and the Institutions and Events Committee, Nasr Abu Jaish called for strengthening and preserving the home front, and this is a priority.
He warned that they would not remain idle in front of the recurrence of these attacks, calling on the governor and the security establishment to take strict measures against those who tamper with the social fabric and the citizen's security.
