A Palestinian group kills a young man accusing him of collaborating with "Israel"
A Palestinian armed group killed a young man who said he had confessed to cooperating with the Israeli intelligence and causing the death of a number of the group's members in the occupied West Bank.
The Lions' Den group said that it "liquidated" the young man last night.
And the young man appeared in a video clip spread on social media, and seen by Agence France-Presse, as he made confessions that he was assigned by the Israeli intelligence to follow up and monitor armed activists from the Lions' Den group.
A security source, who preferred not to be named, confirmed that the young man who appeared in the video was shot dead in the Old City of Nablus , in the northern West Bank.
The group said in a statement on its platform on the Telegram application, "We will explain to the public opinion everything that is necessary in a timely manner, accurately documented, after completing some security measures on our part."
The group's statement indicated that the liquidation of the young man was nothing but "our message to every traitor who sold his religion, his conscience, his honor and his homeland."
Among the activists who were assigned to monitor the young man were leaders in the group, such as Muhammad al-Azizi and Adham Mabrouka, who were eliminated by the Israeli army during several military operations in the city during the past few months.
In the clip, the young man said that he accompanied the army in the military operation that targeted al-Azizi, and that the army dressed him in his uniform before accompanying them to the leader's house in the old city of Nablus.
The young man stated that he was "brought down" and pushed to cooperate with the Israeli side after he was photographed in an "improper position" with a second young man who cooperated with Israel.
He indicated that he had received rewards from the Israeli side, usually in the form of money or packs of cigarettes.
The Lions' Den group was active in the middle of last year in the city of Nablus, which took its stronghold from its old town.
For its part, the Independent Commission for Human Rights in Palestine confirmed that such charges are "the jurisdiction of the institutions of the national judicial and security authority."
The authority added that the killing of the young man took place "outside the framework of the law and without regard to the legal procedures followed."
It called for "not taking the law into your own hands" and called on the PA's institutions and security services to "carry out their duty towards those who carry out these acts and bring them to justice."
In a statement, a copy of which was obtained by AFP, the commission called on "the national action factions to have a clear position on this behavior."
