Jordan, in coordination with Palestine , and Egypt , in its capacity as chair of the regular session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level, called today (Wednesday) for an emergency meeting of the League of Arab States at the level of permanent delegates, in light of the developments taking place in Al-Aqsa Mosque , as a result of the Israeli police storming the Haram. Al-Qudsi yesterday, and the attack on him and those in it.

In a statement, the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs affirmed the continuation of movement at the Arab level within the series of procedures, communications and coordination undertaken by the Kingdom, to stop the Israeli attacks, which are a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, and an unacceptable and condemned act aimed at changing the historical and legal status in Jerusalem and its sanctities.

According to the statement, Jordan affirms that it will take all steps and measures that would stop this dangerous Israeli escalation, and warn of its consequences, and hold Israel, the occupying power, fully responsible for its consequences, which threaten security and peace in the region.

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli police's storming of the Temple Mount and assaulting it and those in it, calling on Israel to immediately remove the police and special forces from the Temple Mount.

It is noteworthy that Jordan supervises the administration of Islamic and Christian holy sites in the occupied city of Jerusalem, according to the peace agreement signed between the two sides in 1994.
