Prisoners Authority: The prisoner Al-Rifai needs urgent medical care

Today, Sunday, the Authority for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs said that prisoner Asif Al-Rifai (20 years old), who suffers from cancer in various parts of his body, still needs intensive medical care, amid a recent deterioration in his health condition.

The authority added that prisoner Al-Rifai had been diagnosed with cancer in the colon, intestines, and glands during 2021, and at that time he underwent several operations to remove tumors and chemotherapy sessions, but his recent arrest caused a decline in his health condition and the disease reached an advanced stage as a result of the occupation’s negligence in Monitor his health condition and provide him with the necessary treatment.

She pointed out that Al-Rifai is currently facing a very disturbing health condition, as he suffers from severe pain in various parts of his body, and the prison administration still does not care about his condition and health.

The authority held the occupation fully responsible for the life of the prisoner Al-Rifai, calling on the institutions of the international community to intervene immediately and urgently in order to release him and all sick prisoners against whom a medical crime was committed.

It is worth mentioning that the Israeli occupation army re-arrested Al-Rifai on September 24 of last year, after raiding his house in the town of Kfar’in, northwest of Ramallah, and searching it and overturning its contents, noting that he is a former prisoner who was arrested several times before.
