Awartani: The next academic year will be divided into four periods instead of two semesters

Ramallah - “Jerusalem” dot com - Minister of Education Marwan Awartani said that the next academic year will be divided into four periods, instead of two semesters.

Awartani added, in an interview with the “Today’s File” program on Palestine TV: “Next year will not include two semesters, but rather we will adopt a new system, in which the academic year will be divided into four periods between each period and another, a vacation of 7-10 days, the first of which is the olive vacation after exams are submitted. The first period, and exams for each period will be during the class.

With regard to the general secondary exams in the homeland and the diaspora, Awartani indicated that they will be unified and simultaneous, indicating that the preparation of the exams took place according to dealing with the existing challenges and the discrepancy between the number of face-to-face hours that the students took.

He pointed out that the date for high school results will be at the beginning of August.

Awartani indicated that Tawjihi students, at the moment of announcing their high school results, can view their grades list without the need to go to school.

He stressed moving forward in cooperation with international partners and Arab funds in order to complete the restoration of schools that were damaged by the Israeli aggression before the start of the new academic year, pointing out that the total cost of this is estimated at five million five hundred thousand dollars.
