The price of natural gas rose in Europe for the second day

Amsterdam (dpa) – Natural gas futures prices continued to rise in European trading today, Wednesday, for the second day in a row, as traders await the position of pumping Russian natural gas through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline after the end of its annual maintenance next week.


Bloomberg news agency indicated that Nord Stream 1, which transports gas from Russia to Germany, has been out of work since the day before yesterday for a period of 10 days due to regular maintenance, but there are fears that it will not be fully operational after the end of maintenance work, due to the political and economic conflict between Russia and Western countries against the background. During the days prior to the start of maintenance, the line was operating at about 40% of its operational capacity.


In Amsterdam, the price of Dutch gas, which is the standard gas for the European market, rose by 0.8% to 174 euros per megawatt-hour for delivery next month in today's trading until approximately 8:30 in the morning.


The price rose yesterday by 4.9%, the price rose by almost the same amount over the past month.
