The loss of the colony is a gain for Palestine
Written by: Hamada Pharaoh
Significant achievements for the benefit of the Palestinian Arab people, their just rights, and their national cause, no matter how simple, modest, and unimportant they seem to some narrow-minded people, but they are cumulative additions on the long road, the path of the Palestinians regaining their full rights on their land, in their homeland, which has no homeland for them. Other: Palestine.
The United Nations Specialized Committee on Decolonization concluded with a draft resolution consisting of a question that was referred to the meeting of the United Nations General Assembly, with a view to voting on it next month, December 2022, according to which it includes submitting a request for an advisory opinion by the International Court of Justice, and its legal answer to two questions: :
The first is what are the legal consequences of Israel's (colonial) continuous violations of the Palestinians' right to self-determination, its long occupation, settlement, and annexation of Palestinian lands, and its discriminatory policies?
Second, how do these policies affect the legal status of the Israeli occupation, and what are the legal consequences for all countries and the United Nations?
The Palestinian struggle, in its various forms in confronting the colonial project and its occupation, whether through armed struggle, popular uprising, negotiations, or diplomatic action, is a cumulative action, with various tools that will not achieve the goal by a knockout, and the occupation and its termination of the land of Palestine will not be defeated, by a knockout. Rather, this is done gradually through cumulative steps, which constitute a loss of the colony’s balance, the decline of its influence, and the decline of its strength. And justice and titles The colony worked depending on European influence at the beginning, and then American influence later and now to undermine the status of Palestine, so that the colony and its occupation do not deserve its legitimacy like the countries of the world that won their independence and the freedom of their people, and the respect for their sovereignty, these titles: independence, freedom and respect, obtained arbitrarily by the colony At the expense of the Palestinian people, hypocrisy on the part of the Europeans, pressure due to American influence, and weakness on the part of Arabs and Muslims.
Transferring questions by the United Nations General Assembly, which recognized the Palestinian right to a state on the lines of June 4, 1967, a transfer that will force the judges of the International Court of Justice to present their advisory opinion, as previously happened on the apartheid wall, and its advisory decision issued on July 9, 2004, It stated:
- The settlements established by the (colony) on the occupied Palestinian lands represent a clear violation of international law.
- Building the wall and the bases associated with it, establishing a fait accompli on the ground.
- The wall can become a permanent danger, as a situation similar to actual annexation emerges from it.
- The construction of the wall hinders the exercise of the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and thus represents a breach of the (colony's) commitment and lack of respect for that right.
Transferring questions by the General Assembly after voting on them will constitute a political and legal blow to the colony, and a political and legal addition in favor of Palestine.
