Finalizing the time and place for the new round of nuclear talks
TEHRAN, (Xinhua) -- Iran's chief nuclear negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani said on Sunday that the time and venue for a new round of talks to revive the 2015 nuclear deal are being finalized, the official Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported.
Baqeri Kani said, "The Doha negotiations took place within a predetermined framework," adding that "the time and place for the next negotiations are being finalized in exchanges" between Iran and the European Union.
Baqeri Kani did not specify whether the next round of talks would take place between Iran and the "B4 + 1" group (Britain, China, France and Russia in addition to Germany), or whether it would be held indirectly between Iran and the United States.
Iran and the United States held indirect talks on Tuesday and Wednesday in the Qatari capital, Doha, mediated by European Union coordinator Enrique Moura, to address their differences over reviving the nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.
The Doha talks did not yield results, but Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian described the talks as "positive".
