Algeria - "Al Quds" dot com - Minister of National Economy Khaled Al-Aseeli welcomed today, Saturday, the adoption by the League Council at the summit level of the recommendation of the State of Palestine to support the Palestinian economy, in preparation for its adoption by the Arab Summit, scheduled to be held on the first of next November, in Algeria.

The Council approved the proposal to add the smallest national currency in the Arab and Islamic countries to the monthly bill of fixed and mobile telephones for subscribers of the service, to help and strengthen the steadfastness of Jerusalem.

The Council authorized the Islamic Development Bank to manage these funds in the same way as the Al-Aqsa Fund and Al-Quds Fund.

The Economic and Social Council renewed its call to the Arab countries to support the Palestinian economy in accordance with bilateral arrangements with the State of Palestine, and to open their markets to the free flow of products of Palestinian origin by exempting them from customs duties, in implementation of previous decisions issued in this regard.

He also stressed the boycott of settlements in all its forms, the revitalization of investment in the Palestinian land, in addition to strengthening the steadfastness of citizens in front of the arbitrary policies and measures of the Israeli occupation, and endorsed the proposal to establish the Arab Center for Economic and Social Empowerment Studies in the State of Palestine.

Minister Osaily called for speeding up the translation of the decisions of the Arab summits aimed at preserving the national identity of the city of Jerusalem, strengthening the steadfastness of our people, and supporting the Palestinian economy.

At the end of its meeting, the Council approved 24 items, which will be submitted to the Arab summit on the first and second of next month. They were unanimously approved, including several recommendations on economic and social files, foremost among them the Arab food security file, activating the free zone, and accelerating the establishment of the Arab customs union.
