The Afghan interim government is recruiting more than 90 former policewomen
FAIZABAD (Xinhua) -- The administration of Badakhshan province in northern Afghanistan has recruited more than 90 former policewomen into the province's police force, said an officer of the Badakhshan Police Training Department.
"The Badakhshan Provincial Police Department has assigned more than 70 policewomen and 20 female police officers to assist the police forces in carrying out their responsibilities," Mohammad Noor told Xinhua on Saturday.
And the work of policewomen recruited in the previous government as part of the police force in the province, but they lost their work in the wake of the Taliban took over the reins of power in the country in August last year.
Noor said that due to the shortage of female police, it is difficult for policemen to perform their duties properly and they cannot search a house or a suspected woman.
