The Prime Minister receives the German Minister of State for Economic Cooperation and Development

Ramallah - "Jerusalem" dot com - Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh received the German Minister of State for Economic Cooperation and Development, Jochen Flasbarth, today, Wednesday, in his office in Ramallah, in the presence of the representative of the Federal Republic of Germany to the State of Palestine, Oliver Ovcha.

Shtayyeh said: "The settlers' terrorism is a result of the incitement of the Israeli government ministers, and what happened in Hawara and its environs is the greatest evidence of the danger of this extremist government that is pushing for more killing and violations against our people, accelerating the pace and density of settlement, and the Judaization of Jerusalem."

He added, "The laws imposed by the Israeli government and judicial amendments will not only be reflected internally and help extremists consolidate their control over power, but also threaten the Palestinians, their children's lives, and their lands."

And the Prime Minister continued: "The approval and passage of the Israeli Knesset today's preliminary reading of the draft law to execute prisoners is a manifestation of these racist and criminal policies that defy international norms, conventions and covenants."

He said, "Israel imposes a state of apartheid by de facto and legislation, and this matter was documented by reports of prestigious international institutions, such as Human Rights Watch and Amnesty, as well as Israelis such as B'Tselem."

On the other hand, the Prime Minister discussed with the German minister the need to build on the Arab peace initiative in order to fill the political vacuum and protect the two-state solution, stressing that any development efforts without a political horizon will not be sufficient.

The Prime Minister welcomed the German stance towards the settlers' crime in Hawara, which appeared in the statement of Foreign Minister Analina Berbock, who denounced "settler terrorism."

He expressed his appreciation to the Federal Republic of Germany for its support in many sectors, whether technical and vocational education, water, infrastructure, and most importantly the spirit of partnership between Palestine and the Republic of Germany in order to end the occupation and establish a Palestinian state.

The two sides discussed the Palestinian-German bilateral dialogue, and the joint committee meeting in Berlin next April.

For his part, the German minister expressed his country's commitment to support peace in accordance with the two-state solution and the resolutions of international legitimacy and to continue economic support to support the Palestinian people.
