Minister of Transport: The Jordanian authorities have started working to facilitate travel through the Karama crossing

Ramallah - "Jerusalem" dot com - Minister of Transportation and Communications Assem Salem said today, Tuesday, "The Jordanian authorities have begun working to take measures to facilitate travel through the Karama Crossing / King Hussein Bridge in an easy and comfortable way that respects the dignity of our people."


Salem stressed, in an exclusive interview on Voice of Palestine Radio and Palestine TV, that there is a Palestinian-Jordanian interest in developing work on the crossing, and the need to transfer the modern Jordanian experience in managing airports to it.


He added, "Jordan will modernize some of the buses operating on the bridge, up to their complete modernization, with an increase in the number of baggage handlers from 7 to 30." Available and using only two windows.


Salem added that the Jordanian government will begin, starting next year, to work on building a modern and modern bridge at a cost of $200 million, with international support provided, provided that its construction will be completed within two years.


He added that work is underway to establish a public intercity bus company to provide modern and fast service to citizens.


Regarding fuel subsidy mechanisms for the public transport sector, the Minister of Transport and Communications explained that subsidy will be transferred through bank accounts after canceling the cycle system due to the need for months to operate it.
