Syria: American forces take out dozens of tanks loaded with stolen oil to Iraq
DAMASCUS, (Xinhua) -- The Syrian News Agency (SANA) reported today (Monday) that the American forces removed dozens of tankers loaded with stolen Syrian oil towards Iraq through an illegal crossing.
The official agency quoted local sources from the Hasakah countryside as saying, "The American occupation forces removed, during the past hours, in batches consisting of 100 tanks filled with Syrian oil, from the Hasakah countryside to Iraqi territory through the illegal al-Mahmudiya crossing."
This comes two days after the US forces transported a convoy consisting of 89 tanks loaded with stolen oil to its bases in Iraqi territory through the illegal al-Mahmudiyah crossing, which is designated for stealing oil from Syrian fields, according to SANA.
Damascus repeatedly accuses the United States of stealing oil and wheat from the areas it controls in northern and eastern Syria and transporting them via trucks and tankers to Iraq.
And the Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources in Syria announced in a statement posted on its Facebook page last Tuesday that 66,000 barrels of oil per day were stolen by the American forces from the occupied fields in the eastern region, noting that the total direct and indirect losses since the beginning of the war are in Syria amounted to about 105 billion dollars until mid-2022.
