Al-Masri: Settler attacks in the West Bank are a systematic government plan supported by the occupation army

Hani Al-Masri, Director General of the Palestinian Center for Research, Policies and Strategic Studies, affirmed that the escalation of settler attacks witnessed in the West Bank is not merely random or isolated incidents. Al-Masri explained that these practices come within the framework of an organized Israeli policy that directly aims to restrict the Palestinian presence and attempt to confine the population to narrow and disconnected geographical enclaves.

Al-Masri pointed out in press statements that these attacks are carried out under full cover and direct protection from the occupation army, and with clear political support from the current Israeli government. He considered that this harmony between settlers and the military establishment reflects a government plan aimed at changing the demographic and geographical reality in the occupied territories, which increases the daily suffering of citizens.

The strategic analyst revealed shocking figures related to the extent of violations, as more than 11,000 attacks were recorded in various areas of the West Bank since the beginning of this year, in addition to hundreds of attacks that occurred since the beginning of this month. He explained that these attacks caused the displacement of thousands of Palestinians from their lands, as well as the destruction of vast areas of agricultural fields and the uprooting of fruit trees.

Al-Masri linked this field escalation to internal political calculations in Israel, specifically with the approaching date of the next elections. He believed that the right-wing government seeks to intensify its repressive measures in the West Bank and Gaza Strip to enhance its popularity and political standing among Israeli voters, which makes the probabilities of continued violence very high during the next phase.

In conclusion of his analysis, Al-Masri stressed that the only option available to Palestinians to confront these challenges is to strengthen popular steadfastness and organize internal ranks to confront displacement plans. He noted that any potential change in the composition of the occupation government may lead to a temporary alleviation of the intensity of the escalation, but it will not change the fixed Israeli political doctrine that categorically rejects the principle of establishing an independent Palestinian state.

The attacks witnessed in the West Bank are no longer isolated incidents, but rather come within an organized policy aimed at restricting Palestinians and pushing them into isolated areas.
