International press reports, citing security sources, have revealed that Israeli occupation authorities have prepared extensive lists containing the names of thousands of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip with the aim of assassinating or arresting them. These lists are based on allegations of their involvement in the events of October 7, 2023, and hundreds of them have already been targeted during ongoing military operations.
The sources explained that Israeli security agencies employ highly advanced technological techniques, including real-time surveillance programs and facial recognition systems, to pinpoint the locations of those targeted. These actions are part of a campaign described by the reports as being driven by a desire for revenge, with expectations of its continuation for long periods, exceeding any potential ceasefire agreements.
In a related context, officials in the occupation government justify these field executions as a means to deter Palestinians from engaging in armed action in the future. However, experts and analysts have warned that this policy will lead to entirely counterproductive results, especially given the closed political horizon and the absence of any real path to a just resolution of the Palestinian issue.
Regarding internal violations, Haaretz newspaper launched a sharp attack on National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, following his publication of a video documenting his abuse of international activists. The video showed solidarity activists from the Global Flotilla of Steadfastness handcuffed and blindfolded on the ground in the Ashdod area, while the minister directed direct verbal insults at them.
The editorial considered that Ben Gvir's actions, despite their usual crudeness, reflect the prevailing standards within the Israeli establishment in dealing with opponents and activists. The newspaper described what these solidarity activists, coming from friendly countries, were subjected to as an international disgrace, especially since the humiliation occurred deliberately, in front of cameras, and with ministerial blessing.
Regarding the Sudanese issue, French press reports indicated that drones have begun to change the balance of power and the nature of the confrontation between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces. Sources pointed out that the pace of aerial attacks launched by the Rapid Support Forces has significantly escalated in recent weeks, targeting vital sites in the capital, Khartoum.
Although these drone attacks have not yet achieved decisive strategic gains on the ground, they contribute to the continuous attrition of the Sudanese army's capabilities. Analysts believe that this technical development in the conflict is pushing the crisis towards a stalemate, complicating efforts to impose field control and achieve stability in disputed areas.
The campaign of arrests and liquidations is likely to continue even after a ceasefire is reached, driven by a desire for revenge and to deter Palestinians.
