A Palestinian source confirmed on Friday that the Fatah movement did not attend the meetings of the Palestinian factions held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, noting that it is not bound by any of the outcomes of these meetings.

The source clarified that any agreement to hold direct meetings between Fatah and Hamas is not currently on the table, and there are no anticipated meetings between the two movements or with other factions in the foreseeable future.

The source emphasized that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has set clear conditions for any dialogue with Hamas, the most important of which is the recognition of the Palestine Liberation Organization as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people.
