"Christian Islam" condemns the occupation municipality's alteration of the historical name of the Buraq Wall.

The Islamic Christian Commission for the Support of Jerusalem and Holy Sites condemned the occupation municipality's replacement of the historical name of the Buraq Wall with "Wailing Wall," in a new step within the series of attempts by the occupation to erase the religious and historical identity of this ancient Islamic site.

The Commission stated in a statement that changing the name of the Buraq Wall on buses is a distortion of facts and a blatant violation of religious and cultural heritage, and a flagrant infringement of UNESCO decisions that clearly affirmed the Islamic identity of the Buraq Wall as an integral part of Al-Aqsa Mosque, rejecting any false names promoted by the occupation.

The Commission warned of the occupation's attempts to exploit its ongoing bloody aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank to impose new realities in the city of Jerusalem, through entrenching settlement and repeated assaults on Islamic and Christian holy sites, as part of an accelerating plan aimed at changing the character of the holy city and its religious and historical identity.
