Saudi Arabia on Wednesday expressed its condemnation and denunciation of statements made by an Israeli occupation official calling for the imposition of sovereignty over the West Bank in Palestine, in violation of international law.
In a statement issued by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saudi Arabia reiterated its rejection of any attempts to expand settlements on Palestinian lands and emphasized the importance of obligating the Israeli authorities to abide by international resolutions.
The statement also reiterated Saudi Arabia's full support for the Palestinian people in regaining their legitimate rights in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, and in establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. The statement described this position as "firm, unwavering, and unwavering."
