Prime Minister Mohamed Mustafa discussed with a number of economic experts, in the presence of relevant ministers, ways to overcome Israeli deductions from Palestinian tax revenues (clearance), and to consider solutions to address the stifling crisis facing public finances.
Discussions focused on exploring economic alternatives, ways to improve and develop the financial system, and reducing reliance on the Israeli side due to the relationship imposed by the occupation, in light of escalating Israeli deductions from Palestinian tax revenues.
The attendees also discussed practical steps with international partners to address the imbalances in the Paris Economic Protocol, stressing the need to combat smuggling and tax evasion, which cost the national economy losses exceeding one billion shekels annually.
