70 days and Israeli occupation continues its aggression on Tulkarm and its two camps

The Israeli occupation's aggression on the city of Tulkarm and its camp has entered its 70th consecutive day, and its 57th day on the Nur Shams camp, amid ongoing violations and military escalation against civilians.

Local sources reported that the occupation forces sent military reinforcements to the city and to the Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps, deploying large infantry units in their neighborhoods, storming homes, vandalizing them, firing live ammunition and flash bombs, and hearing occasional explosions, especially after midnight.

She added that the occupation forces are still stationed in several homes within the two camps, having converted a number of them into military barracks, while occupation forces have deployed their vehicles around them, amid a tight siege.

This morning, Nour Shams camp witnessed a heavy deployment of occupation vehicles and infantry units, which patrolled its neighborhoods, concentrating in the Manshiyya neighborhood, amid extensive search and combing operations.

Meanwhile, occupation forces deployed inside Tulkarm camp, as part of the ongoing escalation that has affected all its neighborhoods. The camp has been emptied of its residents after they were forcibly displaced from their homes, and is completely devoid of any sign of life, following the complete destruction of its infrastructure and the sabotage, demolition, and burning of homes and facilities.

In a related context, occupation forces' vehicles provocatively patrolled the city's streets and neighborhoods, setting up flying checkpoints in several locations, including Nablus Street, Shuweika Street in the northern neighborhood, and at the southern entrance to the city. They intercepted passing vehicles, detained them for extended periods, and subjected them to searches, checking the identities of their passengers, and interrogating them.

The occupation forces continue to seize a number of homes and residential buildings on Nablus Street and the city's northern neighborhood, transforming them into military barracks with their vehicles stationed around them. Meanwhile, they are restricting citizens' movement on the street, sections of which have been closed off with earth mounds in both directions.

This morning, students in Tulkarm and its suburbs headed to their schools to resume in-person education, after a 70-day hiatus due to the ongoing aggression on the city and its two camps, with the exception of five girls' schools, which remain closed: Al-Adawiya Secondary School, Ashbilia Elementary School, Abu Salma Al-Karmi Elementary School, Zenobia Elementary School, and Khawla Bint Al-Azwar Elementary School.

This return comes amid efforts by educational staff, in coordination with relevant authorities in the governorate, to ensure a safe learning environment amidst these challenging circumstances.

The ongoing aggression on the city and its two camps has resulted in the deaths of 13 citizens, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant. Dozens have also been injured and arrested, and more than 4,000 families have been forcibly displaced from the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps, along with dozens of families from the city's northern neighborhood after their homes were seized and a number of them converted into military barracks.

This aggression also caused widespread destruction to the infrastructure, including homes, shops, and vehicles, which were completely and partially demolished, burned, vandalized, looted, and stolen. 396 homes were completely destroyed and 2,573 partially destroyed in the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps, in addition to the closure of their entrances and alleys with earth mounds.
