The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that Tel Aviv has presented an alternative proposal to a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and a prisoner exchange, requesting that Hamas release 10 prisoners instead of the 5 included in the Egyptian proposal.
The newspaper quoted informed sources as saying that Israel "hopes to reach a ceasefire agreement before the Jewish Passover holiday, which falls between April 12 and 20."
According to the sources, "Israel insists on releasing 10 detainees in Gaza, instead of the 5 stipulated in the Egyptian proposal."
