The UN Security Council is holding a closed session on the humanitarian situation in Gaza today, Friday, with Edem Wosorno, Director of Operations and Advocacy at the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), briefing members.
France and the United Kingdom, with support from Algeria, requested the meeting to discuss the humanitarian situation and the protection of aid workers in Gaza. The Council presidency stated that an official statement would be adopted at the end of the session, in accordance with Rule 55 of the Council's provisional rules of procedure.
