WFP: Hundreds of thousands of Gazans are at risk of severe hunger

The United Nations World Food Programme warned on Thursday that hundreds of thousands of Gazans are once again at risk of severe hunger and malnutrition as the expanding Israeli military campaign significantly disrupts food aid operations.

"The World Food Programme and its food security partners have been unable to bring new food supplies into Gaza for more than three weeks," the organization added in a statement, noting that its remaining food stocks are sufficient for operations for a maximum of two weeks, according to Reuters.

On the other hand, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced the martyrdom of more than 180 children in the Gaza Strip in a single day as a result of Israel's resumption of its genocidal war.

The agency called, via a post on its X account, for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

She said: In Gaza, more than 180 children were reportedly killed in a single day, and if the ceasefire is not restored, the number of casualties will continue to rise.

Israel ended the ceasefire with Hamas on March 18, launching a surprise wave of airstrikes that killed hundreds of Palestinians across the Gaza Strip.
