Lazzarini: Gaza is experiencing its longest period without supplies since the war began.

The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, said that no humanitarian aid has entered Gaza for more than three weeks, the longest period the Strip has gone without any supplies since the beginning of the Israeli war of extermination.

In a statement issued Thursday evening, Lazzarini announced that eight UNRWA employees were killed by Israeli fire in Gaza over the past week.

The UN official warned that "hunger is increasing in Gaza, the threat of disease looms, and Israeli bombing continues."

"Parents cannot find food for their children, and patients are without medicine in Gaza," he said.

He pointed out that "prices in Gaza are rising like crazy."

He continued: "Last week witnessed the bloodiest days in the past year and a half of war, with more than 500 people reported killed, including women and children."

He pointed out that "more than 140,000 people in Gaza were forced to flee due to evacuation orders issued by Israel."

Lazzarini stressed the need to "lift the blockade, reopen the crossings for the regular flow of humanitarian aid and commercial supplies, stop the bombing, and resume the ceasefire in Gaza."
