The head of Israel's internal security service, Shin Bet, Ronen Bar, said that the decision to exclude him from the negotiating team had negative repercussions and did not lead to the release of Israeli prisoners. He emphasized that the goal was to conduct negotiations without reaching a deal.
In a letter addressed to the ministers of the occupation government, Thursday evening, Bar indicated that the decision to dismiss him was made to prevent an investigation into the events of October 7.
In a letter to Israeli government ministers, Bar said that the allegations Netanyahu relied on to dismiss him were merely a cover for other, strange motives that are fundamentally unacceptable, according to Quds Press.
He added that the decision to dismiss him should have been based on clear allegations that he could respond to.
Barr continued in his letter: "Contrary to the allegations, there has been cooperation between the agency I run and the prime minister since the beginning of the war."
Barr addressed the government ministers, saying, "You are unaware of most of the details due to the prime minister's directives."
Bar stated that Netanyahu had prevented him from meeting with Israeli government ministers over the past year.
The Shin Bet chief noted in his letter that "Israel is going through a difficult and complex phase, with 59 prisoners still held in Gaza, and we have not defeated Hamas."
