US President Donald Trump's Middle East envoy said in an interview with Fox News that there is an urgent need to set deadlines for the release of detainees held by Hamas, noting that the way they are being held in Gaza is unacceptable.

The envoy added that the beginning in Gaza must be Hamas' surrender and surrender, in addition to the necessity of disarming it and leaving the Strip.

In another context, the envoy praised the role played by Qatar in mediation, stressing that they were wonderful in dealing with the crisis, and that they were an important part of the efforts made to reach a solution.
