South African government: Israel using starvation as a weapon of war in Gaza

South Africa said on Wednesday in a statement issued by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs that "Israel is using starvation as a weapon of war" in Gaza, by preventing humanitarian aid from reaching the Strip since Sunday.

According to Agence France-Presse, the Foreign Ministry explained in its statement that “by preventing food from entering Gaza, Israel continues to use starvation as a weapon of war as part of an ongoing campaign that the International Court of Justice has ruled to be a potential genocide against the Palestinian people,” referring to the case brought by South Africa against Israel before the court.
