Palestinian President arrives in Cairo to participate in the emergency Arab Summit
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas arrived in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on Monday evening, to participate in the emergency Arab summit.
President Abbas was received at the presidential lounge at Cairo International Airport by Minister of Labor Mohammad Jubran, Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt Diab Al-Louh, and advisors to the Palestinian Embassy and Delegation to the Arab League.
President Abbas will deliver a speech at the emergency summit tomorrow, Tuesday, on the developments in Palestine. He will also meet with a number of Arab leaders on the sidelines of the summit.
This summit comes at the request of the State of Palestine, in order to coordinate positions and unify visions regarding the challenges and serious developments facing the Palestinian cause, especially the Arab consensus on the reconstruction plan in the Gaza Strip without displacing our people, consolidating the ceasefire and the State of Palestine assuming its responsibilities in the Gaza Strip and stopping Israeli practices and plans in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and working to implement the two-state solution, leading to ending the occupation and embodying the Palestinian state on the 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and then achieving just, comprehensive and lasting peace in the region.
The President is accompanied by the Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Hussein Al-Sheikh, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Mustafa, the President’s Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs, Majdi Al-Khalidi, and the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Cairo, Diab Al-Louh.
