Israel Hayom newspaper reported, citing its sources, that the Israeli occupation threatened to cut off water and electricity supplies to the Gaza Strip if Hamas did not release more detainees.

The sources indicated that "Israel" has several tools, including carrying out specific military operations, to pressure Hamas if its demands are not met.

The newspaper quotes government sources as saying that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed his willingness to continue the ceasefire and pay a heavy price to recover the detainees, but at the same time he refuses to end the war once and for all because that would mean Hamas remaining in power.

The sources added that Netanyahu intends to seize all possible opportunities before returning to war, while giving the mediators several days to bring Hamas back to the negotiating table without allowing it to remain in power.
