The Prisoners and Freed Prisoners Affairs Authority said that the conditions of detainees in Shatta prison are tragic, as they are subjected to severe beatings and continuous gas spraying, and the food is served raw and without salt.

It added in a statement issued today, Thursday, quoting sick detainees, that the occupation prison administration practices medical negligence against detainees, especially the sick ones.

She pointed out that the detainee Walid Muslim, who has been detained since September 2024, suffers from the skin disease "psoriasis" after his arrest, and his health condition is poor and he is not receiving any treatment, and he demanded that the necessary treatment be provided to him.

While the detainee Fadi Raddad complains of pain in his right shoulder and back after the prison guards severely beat him, in light of the prison administration’s deliberate medical neglect and failure to provide him with the necessary treatment.

Following the lawyer’s visit, the detainees demanded that the relevant authorities provide hours in the prison and know the times for fasting and the call to prayer, especially with the approach of the month of Ramadan, in addition to providing copies of the Qur’an in the rooms, as there is one copy of the Qur’an in each room. The detainees appealed to the relevant institutions to help them by allowing the prison administration to practice religious rituals during the month of Ramadan and to improve the quality of food.
