Israeli occupation obstructs the exit of patients and wounded people from the Rafah crossing
The Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed on Tuesday that Israel is deliberately obstructing the exit of Palestinian patients and wounded from the Strip through the Rafah border crossing with Egypt.
This came in a statement the day after Hamas announced that Israel had violated the ceasefire agreement in effect since January 19, on four points, including delaying the entry of medicines and “requirements for the restoration of hospitals and the health sector.”
The ministry said in the statement, "The Israeli occupation is deliberately obstructing the travel of medical cases through the Rafah land crossing."
She added, "The number of cases that will leave today is 53, which is less than the number required to be allowed to leave, which is 150 patients and wounded."
She said that Israel had refused to allow a 16-year-old cancer patient to travel, and he was scheduled to leave on the list of those allowed today.
On Monday evening, Hamas said in a statement that Israel had also violated the agreement by "delaying the return of the displaced to the northern Gaza Strip, targeting our people with shelling and shooting, killing many of them, and obstructing the entry of shelter requirements such as tents, prefabricated houses, fuel, and rubble-removal mechanisms to retrieve bodies."
Hamas' statement came after its armed wing, the Qassam Brigades, announced that it would freeze the release of Israeli prisoners scheduled for release next Saturday, until Tel Aviv abides by all terms of the agreement.
On an almost daily basis, the Israeli army violates the agreement by firing its drones at the people of Gaza, resulting in deaths and injuries, including children and the elderly.
This situation is confirmed by Israeli reports that Benjamin Netanyahu's government is preventing the return of life to Gaza in order to force the Palestinians to leave, which is consistent with US President Donald Trump's plan to seize Gaza and remove the Palestinians from it.
On Monday evening, Trump threatened to cancel the ceasefire agreement if Hamas did not release all Israeli prisoners by Saturday afternoon.
The Israeli war on Gaza left about 160,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 14,000 missing.
