The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, handed over an Israeli prisoner with American citizenship to the International Committee of the Red Cross in the port of Gaza City some time ago, Saturday, as part of the fourth batch of the exchange deal within the framework of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.

The ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and the exchange of prisoners between Hamas and Israel began on January 19, with the mediation of Qatar, Egypt and the United States.

Yesterday, Friday, the Qassam spokesman said in a statement: “The following Zionist prisoners will be released on Saturday, February 1: Ofer Calderon, Keith Shmonsel Segal, and Yarden Bibas.”

The handover of Israeli prisoner Keith Shmonsel Segal, who also holds American citizenship, took place in Gaza City.

Earlier today, the Qassam Brigades released two Israeli prisoners who were being held in the Gaza Strip.

The process of handing over the prisoners, Ofer Calderon and Yarden Bibas, to the International Committee of the Red Cross took place near the Khan Yunis port in the southern Gaza Strip, using a special Israeli vehicle used by the settlement security units, which the resistance had captured in Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” in October 2023.

The handover took place in the presence of hundreds of Palestinians and a heavy deployment of Qassam Brigades members, as the Brigades raised pictures of their leaders who were martyred during the genocidal war that Israel committed in the Strip.
