Lebanese Health: 15 dead by Israeli occupation bullets in southern Lebanon
The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from the Israeli occupation's attacks on citizens who tried to enter their villages in the south of the country after the deadline for the occupation's withdrawal had expired has risen to 15 dead and 83 wounded.
The ministry said in a statement on Sunday that 15 citizens, including a soldier, were killed and 83 others were injured by the occupation forces' fire while trying to return to their occupied towns in the south of the country, after the 60-day deadline for the Israeli army to withdraw from the south expired under the ceasefire agreement between Tel Aviv and Beirut.
At dawn on Sunday, the 60-day deadline for the withdrawal of the occupation army that had penetrated southern Lebanon ended, according to the ceasefire agreement that entered into force on November 27, 2024, while Israeli forces continued their presence in some border areas in southern Lebanon, in clear violation of the agreement.
Since the early hours of today, the entrances to the border villages have witnessed gatherings of hundreds of residents, who were confronted by the Israeli occupation forces with bullets while trying to return to their villages.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Health that reached Anadolu Agency, the victims were distributed in the following areas: “Two martyrs, one female martyr, and 12 wounded in Aitaroun, one martyr and two wounded in Blida, 3 martyrs and 14 wounded in Houla, one female martyr, two martyrs, and 12 wounded in Markaba, one martyr and 15 wounded in Kfar Kela, one martyr and 6 wounded in Adaisseh, one soldier martyr in Dahra, and one male martyr and 7 wounded in Mays al-Jabal.”
In addition to "two wounded in Bani Hayyan, one wounded in Maroun al-Ras, one wounded in Shaqra, one wounded in Deir Mimas, one wounded in Rab Talatin, two wounded in Taybeh, and 7 wounded in Yaroun."
Anadolu Agency correspondent reported that the occupation forces are still present in some border areas in southern Lebanon, in a clear violation of the agreement.
On Saturday, the Lebanese army called on residents to wait before heading towards the southern border areas, in anticipation of the presence of mines and suspicious objects left behind by the Israeli army, accusing Israel of procrastinating in withdrawing from those areas.
