Injuries, arrests and checkpoints in the West Bank and Jerusalem

Today, Thursday, the Israeli occupation forces injured three citizens and arrested others, while continuing to set up checkpoints in various areas of the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem.


In Nablus, the occupation forces stormed several neighborhoods of the city, the vicinity of Al-Ain camp, and the Martyrs' Roundabout, raided several homes, searched them, and ransacked their contents, and arrested: Saadi Tabanja from the northern mountain, Abdul Ghafour Abu Hashiya from Ibn Rushd Street, and Khaled Kiwan from the popular housing area.


In the same context, the occupation forces stormed the town of Beita, south of Nablus, and raided a number of homes there, wreaking havoc, but no arrests were reported.


In Jericho, 3 citizens were injured and bruised at dawn on Thursday while trying to leave the city.


Local sources reported that 3 young men were transferred to Jericho Governmental Hospital after they sustained injuries and bruises as a result of the occupation soldiers assaulting them while they were trying to leave the city of Jericho via one of the "dirt" bypass roads.


In the same context, the occupation forces stationed at their military checkpoints surrounding the main and secondary entrances to the city of Jericho continued to prevent citizens from leaving it.


In Ramallah, the occupation forces arrested two young men, Abdul Ghani Faris from Silwad, and Hatem Shokha from Ramoun, after raiding their homes and tampering with their contents. They are both students at Birzeit University. They also arrested the citizen, Ali Wahid Al-Barghouthi, after raiding his home in Kobar, northwest of Ramallah.


Meanwhile, the occupation soldiers set up a checkpoint at the entrance to Rawabi, obstructing the movement of citizens heading to the city of Ramallah, while the Ein Siniya checkpoint witnessed a stifling crisis and thorough inspection of those leaving the city of Ramallah.


In occupied Jerusalem, the Israeli occupation forces closed the Jaba military checkpoint in both directions and stormed the town of Hizma.


Local sources reported that the occupation forces continued to tighten their measures at the Jaba military checkpoint linking the Ramallah, Jerusalem, Jericho, and southern West Bank governorates, for the third consecutive day, and closed the gate at dawn and completely prevented passage.


She added that the occupation forces stormed the town of Hizma, northeast of Jerusalem, and drove their military vehicles through several neighborhoods and streets.


In Hebron, the occupation forces stormed several neighborhoods of the town and arrested: Saif Naim Abu Maria, Hamouda Jamal Abu Maria, Khalil Jamal Abu Maria, and Omar Arafat Zaaqiq, after raiding their homes and deliberately damaging their property.


It also arrested citizens Yousef Ahmed Awad and Qassam Khaled Abu Rabie from Yatta and Al-Fawar camp.


The Israeli occupation forces also tightened their punitive measures against the residents of the Hebron Governorate and closed the checkpoints set up at the entrances to the towns and villages of the governorate and hindered the movement of citizens, which forced a large number of them to spend the night at those checkpoints waiting to be allowed to pass.
