Death of the released prisoner Ismail Taqatqa, who suffered from cancer
The released prisoner Ismail Yousef Taqatqa (40 years old) from the town of Beit Fajjar, south of Bethlehem, died today, Wednesday. He had been suffering from cancer during his detention.
According to the Prisoners’ Media Office, Taqatqa was diagnosed with cancer during his detention. He was released from the occupation prisons a few months ago, and was subjected to torture, starvation, deprivation of all necessities of life, and medical neglect, which led to the deterioration of his health and his contracting cancer.
According to the prisoners' institutions, more than 500 sick and injured prisoners in Israeli occupation prisons are suffering from harsh conditions and deliberate medical neglect.
The number of prisoners and detainees in the occupation prisons exceeds ten thousand and 300, until the beginning of December 2024.
