The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas", announced that its fighters were able, in a complex operation, to storm a newly established military post established by the occupation army in the Jabalia camp, north of the Gaza Strip, and killed 5 soldiers at point-blank range.

Al-Qassam added in a statement issued today, Monday, that its fighters burned a Zionist Merkava tank and its crew during the operation, and targeted a military jeep containing a number of soldiers with hand grenades, killing and wounding them.

In another operation, Al-Qassam said that its fighters destroyed an Israeli troop carrier in Beit Hanoun, northeast of Gaza, with a "Yassin 105" shell, killing and wounding its crew.

In a related context, the Israeli occupation army announced the death of a soldier and the serious injury of one of its officers from the Givati Brigade during battles in the northern Gaza Strip yesterday, Sunday.

With the killing of the soldier, the death toll of the occupation army since the beginning of the ongoing military operation in the North Gaza Governorate, since last October, has risen to 41 soldiers.

For its part, the Israeli occupation army claimed, in a statement, that its forces killed "dozens of militants" in the Jabalia area, north of the Gaza Strip, adding that the operation came after receiving information indicating that they were trying to escape from the targeted area, according to him.
