Israel refuses to provide the Palestinian Authority with weapons to support the Jenin operation
Israel's Army Radio reported on Sunday that the political leadership in Tel Aviv accepted the army's recommendation to refuse to supply the Palestinian Authority with weapons to support the Jenin operation in the northern occupied West Bank.
For about 3 weeks, Palestinian security forces have been continuing an operation in Jenin camp, to pursue "outlaws."
According to what the radio reported on Sunday, the American requests include the transfer of Kalashnikov weapons, ammunition and armored vehicles, to complete the process of controlling the Jenin camp and starting similar operations in other camps in the northern West Bank.
The Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, Herzi Halevi, recommended not responding to the American request to supply the Palestinian Authority with ammunition.
The Israeli Army Radio reported that the US administration is putting pressure on Israel to provide the Palestinian Authority with more weapons.
