The official spokesman for the Palestinian security forces, Brigadier General Anwar Rajab, announced the death of Major Hussein Ahmed Hassan Nassar, a member of the Presidential Guard, while performing his national duty as part of Operation "Protect the Homeland" in the Jenin camp.

The martyr Nassar is from the city of Yatta, north of Hebron.

This brings the number of those killed in the security operation to 9 Palestinians, 5 of whom were from the security forces and 4 citizens, including one of the leaders of the Jenin Battalion affiliated with the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement.

For about three weeks, Palestinian security forces have been continuing a military operation in Jenin camp, under the pretext of pursuing those they call "outlaws."
