Ramallah: 3 young Palestinians injured and a large-scale arrest campaign in Al-Amari camp

Three young men were injured on Wednesday after the Israeli occupation forces stormed the Amari camp, south of Ramallah.


The Red Crescent Society reported that its crews dealt with a young man being shot in the foot with live ammunition, and two other injuries, one of which was run over by a military jeep, and the other was assault.

Local sources said that the occupation forces attacked a number of journalists present in the camp, and fired sound bombs and toxic gas at them in an attempt to prevent them from covering the event.


The sources added that the occupation forces launched a wide-scale arrest campaign in the camp, most of whom were from the Gaza Strip. Among them were: Fathi Hammad (26 years old), Youssef Al-Ashqar, Walid Ayman Abu Ghuwaila (24 years old), Hussam Al-Wawi, and Jibril Ramana. They also detained Palestine TV driver Shadi Kifaya.


Eyewitnesses reported that the occupation forces brought the detainee, Firas Jaber, to the camp while he was handcuffed.


The sources added that the occupation forces closed the entrance to the camp, carried out a campaign of raids and searches of a number of citizens' homes, and seized a vehicle.
