Israeli occupation evacuates the Indonesian hospital and bombs the other two hospitals in northern Gaza
The Israeli occupation forces forced the wounded and sick to evacuate the Indonesian Hospital, and targeted Kamal Adwan and Al-Awda Hospitals, as part of a military campaign that has been ongoing for weeks to displace the residents of the northern Gaza Strip.
Munir al-Barash, director general of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, said that the occupation forces ordered officials of the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia to evacuate it yesterday, Monday, before storming it in the early hours of Tuesday morning and forcing those inside to leave.
Reuters reported that many of those forced to leave by the occupation reached another hospital miles away in Gaza City, some on foot.
Al Jazeera's correspondent explained that the evacuation of the Indonesian hospital coincided with an Israeli bombardment targeting Al Awda Hospital in Jabalia camp.
Commenting on this development, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said that the occupation's forcing of medical staff, patients and displaced persons in the Indonesian hospital to leave is a continuation of war crimes, adding that the international community is required to end its state of silence and unjustified helplessness in the face of what it described as the crimes of the fascist occupation.
For his part, Mohammed Salha, acting director of Al-Awda Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, said that the occupation forces targeted the third floor of the hospital this morning, Tuesday, where dozens of patients are lying.
Saleh added in a statement to Al Jazeera that the occupation practices these violations on a daily basis by targeting everything that moves inside Al Awda Hospital or in its surroundings.
The evacuation of the Indonesian hospital and the targeting of other nearby hospitals comes as the Israeli army announced the expansion of its operations in the northern Gaza Strip.
Since October 5, the occupation army has been launching a military operation that has resulted in the death of about 4,000 Palestinians, the injury of thousands more, and the displacement of tens of thousands, while 40 Israeli soldiers have been killed by the Palestinian resistance during this period, according to official Israeli data.
Bombing and booby-trapped robots
Meanwhile, the director of the hospital, Kama Adwan, Hussam Abu Safia, said that the Israeli occupation forces began sending booby-trapped robots to the hospital's surroundings for the first time yesterday, Monday, to later detonate them, which posed a great danger to everyone in the hospital.
Abu Safiya added that 20 people were injured as a result of the Israeli attacks in various departments of the hospital, including 5 members of the medical staff, explaining that they still have more than 65 patients after the evacuation they were forced to undergo yesterday, Monday.
The director of Al-Awda Hospital confirmed that the situation in the medical facility is becoming more dangerous in light of the occupation forces targeting electricity generators once again and destroying all the barriers and internal doors, calling for the establishment of a safe passage to bring in all necessary supplies and aid and to protect health sector workers from direct Israeli targeting and attacks.
For his part, Marwan Al-Hamas, director of field hospitals in the Gaza Strip, told Al Jazeera that the occupation forces are intensifying their attacks on hospitals in the north without a clear reason, and are killing patients and medical staff through bombing, siege and starvation.
In this context, Munir Al-Barash, Director General of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip, said that the Israeli occupation is escalating its targeting of hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip, and wants to repeat the scenario of Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, where it deliberately detonated booby-trapped robots around Kamal Adwan Hospital, and is besieging the Indonesian Hospital with more than 50 tanks.
Al-Barash warned that forcing the injured and sick to leave hospitals would lead to the death of children, the elderly and serious cases.
Activists on social media circulated pictures of the occupation forces planting an explosive barrel in front of the gate of Kamal Adwan Hospital. The occupation forces also placed similar explosive barrels in the streets surrounding the hospital, and their explosions caused damage to the facility building.
Exclusive images from Al Jazeera also showed columns of smoke rising after violent Israeli raids around Al Awda Hospital.
