Israeli imposes financial fines on Palestinian Jerusalemites under flimsy pretexts
Today, Wednesday, the Israeli occupation municipality in Jerusalem imposed a fine on a Jerusalemite citizen and his wife, under the pretext of parking their vehicles on land it claims is a Jewish cemetery in the town of Silwan, south of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Jerusalem Governorate reported that the occupation municipality imposed a fine of 50 thousand shekels on the Jerusalemite Shadi Samreen and his wife under the pretext of parking their vehicles on land that the occupation claims is a Jewish cemetery in the Wadi al-Rababa neighborhood in the town of Silwan.
In a related context, the occupation police imposed fines on citizens’ vehicles at Bab al-Maghariba and in the al-Thawri neighborhood.
On the other hand, the occupation forces stormed the home of the family of the young man Thaer Jamal Asila (35 years old), who has been arrested since last Monday, in the Bab al-Silsila area in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem. The occupation forces had previously stormed his home in the town of Zaim, northeast of Jerusalem, and searched it and ransacked its contents.
The occupation forces also stormed the Shuafat camp and raided the Ras Khamis area in the camp, northeast of occupied Jerusalem.
The occupation forces set up a military checkpoint in the town of Jabal al-Mukaber, south of Jerusalem, and closed the Jaba military checkpoint, northeast of Jerusalem.
Earlier, the occupation forces demolished the homes of the two brothers, Louay and Alaa Matar, in the town of Jabal al-Mukaber, after forcing them to demolish them themselves yesterday.
During the current week, the occupation forces demolished 18 commercial, residential and agricultural facilities in Jerusalem, bringing the number of facilities that have been demolished since the beginning of November to 37, including 6 facilities that were forcibly demolished by their owners to avoid paying heavy fines if the occupation forces demolished them.
Data indicate an increase in demolitions in Jerusalem compared to last October, which witnessed the demolition of about 15 facilities.
