Israeli occupation attacks olive pickers in Al-Mughayyir, east of Ramallah

Today, Saturday, the Israeli occupation forces forced olive pickers to leave their lands in the village of Al-Mughayyir, east of Ramallah.

Marzouq Abu Naim, Deputy Head of Al-Mughayyir Village Council, confirmed that the occupation forces used force to force farmers to leave their fields, and fired tear gas canisters at them.

The occupation forces have prevented the owners of the targeted lands from entering them since the beginning of the aggression on the Gaza Strip last October. Over the past months, the village has been subjected to several attacks by occupation soldiers and settlers, the most dangerous of which was about three months ago, when they burned many homes and vehicles.

During the annual olive harvest season, Palestinian lands are subjected to repeated attacks by settlers and the occupation army, and farmers constantly face obstacles and arbitrary practices that prevent them from accessing their lands, which leads to huge material losses and increases their daily suffering under the burden of the occupation.

It is expected that farmers will not be able to reach 80,000 dunums of land planted with olives, due to the terror of the settlers under the protection of the occupation army, which will lead to the loss of about 15% of this year’s season’s crop.
