WFP: We are no longer able to distribute food in North Gaza Governorate
The World Food Programme complained on Thursday that it was "no longer" able to distribute food in the northern Gaza Strip due to a shortage of supplies.
This comes amid tight restrictions imposed by Israel on aid access to the Gaza Strip, which several organizations complain make providing a humanitarian response extremely difficult, if not impossible.
The World Food Program said in a statement via the X platform: “We are no longer able to distribute food in any form in the North Gaza Governorate.”
He added, "The shortage of supplies in Gaza forces us to stop distributing food parcels during October."
The UN programme added: "There is no distribution of food parcels, and flour is running out in bakeries in southern and central Gaza."
For the fifth consecutive day, Palestinians in the eastern and western areas of the northern governorate, especially in the Jabalia camp, are being subjected to an operation of "genocide and ethnic cleansing", as the Israeli army imposes a land siege, carries out killings, blows up homes, and forced displacement that the residents reject, as part of its war on the Strip since October 7, 2023.
With American support, the Israeli genocidal war in Gaza resulted in more than 139,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and elderly people.
Tel Aviv continues the genocide, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to end it immediately, and the International Court of Justice’s orders to take measures to prevent acts of “genocide” and improve the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
