Prisoners Authority: The cubs in Megiddo prison suffer inhumane conditions

The Prisoners and Freed Prisoners Affairs Authority said, "The Israeli occupation forces continue to escalate the pace of arrests among children, while the prison administration continues to impose punitive measures against them, according to a recent visit conducted by the Authority's lawyer to the cubs."

The Commission added, in a statement, that the occupation's measures against child prisoners are no less than the retaliatory measures it imposed on adult prisoners since October 7, 2023.

She stressed that they are being held in cells devoid of anything, doubly isolated, and deprived of visiting their families, in light of the continued deprivation of thousands of prisoners from family visits. They also face a starvation policy implemented by the prison administration against them, as the food provided to them is poor in quantity and quality.

The Commission renewed its call for international human rights institutions to assume their responsibilities towards what is happening to prisoners, including children who are exposed to all forms of violations and horrific crimes.

It is noteworthy that the number of child prisoners (cubs) in the occupation prisons has exceeded 250 children, and they are detained in the "Megiddo" and "Ofer" prisons.
