Gaza: Indonesian and Kamal Adwan hospitals warn of going out of service

The Indonesian and Kamal Adwan hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip warned today, Monday, that they will be out of service due to the depletion of the fuel needed to operate their departments, in light of the continued Israeli occupation siege and bombardment, and the prevention of fuel entry.

The director of the Indonesian hospital, Marwan Sultan, said that the intensive care unit has reached its maximum capacity and is filled with critical cases, in addition to the presence of 10 patients who depend on ventilators.

He added that the operating rooms are working around the clock without stopping, but he warned that the hospital is facing a severe shortage of fuel, which threatens to stop medical services completely if the occupation continues to prevent the entry of fuel, which may condemn these injured people to death.

Kamal Adwan Hospital also warned that it would be out of service within 48 hours due to the depletion of fuel and medical supplies.

The hospital said in a brief statement that this poses a major threat to the lives of many patients and injured people receiving treatment at the hospital.

These warnings come amid a severe crisis experienced by health facilities in the Gaza Strip, as a result of the continued destructive aggression and the tight and continuous siege on the northern Gaza Strip, and the occupation’s refusal to allow the entry of fuel, medicines and medical supplies.

The occupation forces continue their aggression on the Gaza Strip, by land, sea and air, since October 7, 2023, which resulted in the death of 40,972 citizens and the injury of 94,761 others, in an incomplete toll, as thousands of victims are still under the rubble and on the roads, and ambulance and rescue crews cannot reach them.
